On June 17th, 2025, Amin Jagani from Hygeia Group participated in a Town Hall hosted by the Ontario Drug Policy Research Network (OPDRN) and facilitated by Dr. Mina Tadrous from Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Toronto.
The Town Hall aimed to provide a platform for stakeholders, including pharmacists and patients, to share experiences, express opinions, and raise questions on Pharmacist Prescribing for Minor Ailments (PPMA).
This forum played a significant role in allowing diverse stakeholders to share insights, voice opinions, and pose queries regarding pharmacist prescribing. The perspectives exchanged aimed to assist researchers in identifying patient-focused research needs and guide policymakers in addressing gaps and exploring opportunities for enhancing and integrating pharmacist prescribing practices within the healthcare system.
Summarizing the discussions at the OPDRN Town Hall and internal data from consulting engagements with pharmacy clients, Hygeia Group has compiled a White Paper. See attached. This document encapsulates key insights and findings for further exploration and improvement in pharmacist prescribing practices.
The collaborative efforts showcased in this initiative are pivotal in refining and optimizing the essential aspect of primary care in Ontario.
